Andrew Kampi of West Madison, Ohio, has been charged with theft of services and theft by deception.
According to reports, State Police responded to a lodging facility in Cooksburg for a reported theft. Kampi and his partner arrived and made walk-in reservations from June 26th through the 28th. Charges also included an hour massage and a bottle of wine. When they business processed the balance, the card was declined and Kampi said he would pay it at the final checkout.
When Kampi was approached about paying on the 29th, he said his boyfriend had his wallet and he had to go outside to retrieve it. Kampi went outside and never returned. Kampi was contacted numerous times but never paid the bill.
Charges and a bench warrant were filed on September 13th in Judge Bazylak’s office. The case has been transferred to Jefferson County Court.
