The Historical & Genealogical Society of Punxsutawney held their annual dinner Saturday night at the Mahoning Valley VFW.
An award was presented to Betty Lou Depp, who was recognized at Volunteer of the Year and the 2018 Historical Preservation Award was presented to Hometown Magazine for their continued look into local history.
Following the awards, Thomas Curry, Chairman of the Society’s Board of Trustees, as well as a charter member and founder of the Society, began a presentation on the importance to the community of Charles C. Gaskill, for whom Gaskill Township and Gaskill Avenue are named.
