An argument over a house key resulted in a Punxsutawney woman being charged with allegedly choking a female.
According to court documents the following criminal charges were filed against 20-year-old Masie Leigh Frampton of Punxsutawney: Strangulation Felony 2, Simple Assault and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
Investigators say around 10 a.m. last Friday morning, Punxsutawney Borough Police responded to a residence on Jenks Avenue for a report of an individual being strangled. Frampton admitted she and another woman in the house had an argument. The complaint says, the female victim’s neck was red and had a scratch mark. She told police she and Frampton got into an argument, she took Frampton’s phone and told her it would be returned when Frampton gave back a house key. Authorities say the victim told them that Frampton then grabbed her by the throat and started to choke her until a third woman entered the room and pulled Frampton off of her.
Frampton was arraigned last Friday, in District Court in front of Judge Bazylak. Unable to post $20,000.00 monetary bail Frampton was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for today in Punxsutawney District Court.
