New details have emerged about a couple from Templeton who suffered minor injuries in a car crash.
Clarion State Police report the accident occurred just before 12:30 back on December 9 on State Route 68 at the intersection with I 80. Troopers say 83 year old Sarah Parkes and her passenger, 85 year old James Parkes, both from Clarion, were attempting to turn left off the ramp. 32 year old Amber Jackson, and passenger, 31 year old Andrew Jackson both from Templeton, were on Route 68 and passing through the intersection, and investigators say each had a green light. Police say Parkes was turning left onto I 80, but did not yield, causing the accident.
All four were taken by ambulance to Clarion Hospital’s Emergency Room. The Jacksons were reported to have minor injuries from the accident. Occupants of the Parkes vehicle were not injured.
Investigators say the traffic lights were functioning properly, and that Sarah Parks was charged for not yielding to oncoming traffic.
