
Punxsutawney State Police say the cause of the fatal house fire on Sunday morning has been determined to be electrical in origin.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal the cause was determined to be accidental and was the result of an electrical matter, in the fatal house fire that occurred Route 119, in the village of Marchand, North Mahoning Township, Indiana County. The fire started around 6:55 a.m. on Sunday, December 30. It originated in a second-story bedroom, according to police.
An 11 year old girl was killed and another juvenile female victim and an adult male victim were flown to a Pittsburgh hospital. They are still being treated and are in stable condition.
The Indiana Gazette reports a GoFundMe page has been set up for the family and a benefit dinner is scheduled for January 27 from 11 am to 4 pm at the Perry Township Fire Hall.
