
New details have been released on a car crash that happened on New Years Day.
Punxsutawney State Police say the crash happened just after 2 pm on January 1, when 84 year old Wilmer McQuown from Punxsutawney was attempting to make a left-hand turn on Route 119 at the intersection with Snyder Hill Road, Young Township, Jefferson County, and failed to yield the right of way to 32 year old Paul Radowicz, causing a head-on collision.
According to authorities, Radowicz’s passenger, 33 year old Mallory Radowicz, was transported to the Punxsutawney Hospital for minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
McQuown was charged for the incident.

Brookville Borough Police have charged a 27 year old man from Kittanning with violating the terms of a protection from abuse order.
According to police, the man allegedly used a cell phone to make contact with the victim in the order on December 31st. Charges have been filed in Jefferson County.

A man from Falls Creek was transported to UPMC Pittsburgh after a crash on Interstate 80 in Brookville Wednesday morning.
According to police, 27-year-old Nathan D. Johnston, of Falls Creek, was traveling west on Interstate 80 near the Brookville exit, Jefferson County. Police say, for unknown reasons, when Johnston was exiting the highway, he struck a guide rail, traveled over an embankment and finally stopped at the bottom of a ravine.
Authorities say Johnston was extricated from the wreckage and transported to Penn Highland Brookville and then to UPMC Pittsburgh for injuries of unknown severity. He was using a seat belt.
Johnston was charged with a traffic violation

A single-car crash Wednesday in Falls Creek resulted in minor injuries.
State Police in DuBois reported that the crash occurred around 2 p.m. when a 73 year old woman was driving west on Main Street in Falls Creek Borough, Jefferson County and crossed the center line, veering off the roadway and hitting a utility pole.
She was taken to Penn Highlands in DuBois and treated for minor injuries. The driver was charged with careless driving and her name was not released.

Police responded to a person who attempted to overdose in Brockway.
State Police from DuBois responded to a 50 year old woman from Brockway, who attempted to overdose on Melatonin capsules. Police say they transported her to Penn Highlands DuBois via Brockway ambulance for a mental health evaluation.
Her name was not released and the investigation is closed.
