
Charges were filed yesterday in the drug-related death of a man from Clarion back in August.
According to court documents, 26-year-old Matthew McDermid from Clarion was arraigned In the District Court on several charges, including drug delivery resulting in death, involuntary manslaughter, and five other charges. The charges stem from an investigation by the Clarion Borough Police and the Pittsburgh City Police Department.
McDermind is free on $50,000.00 unsecured bail and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, January 22, with Judge Quinn presiding.

A Falls Creek man driving on the DuBois Rockton Road was pulled over for several traffic violations and officers found marijuana in his vehicle.
The State Police out of DuBois say the incident happened just after midnight on Saturday, when they stopped 36-year old Shawn Meholick from Fall Creek and noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the car.
According to authorities, they found a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and charged Meholick with DUI and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Charges will be filled in the District Court.

A couple people allegedly stole items from a business on Beaver Drive in DuBois and police need your help.
According to the DuBois City Police, around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday a male and female allegedly stole multiple items from a store and then left without paying for them.
The investigation continues and anyone with information in reference to this incident is asked to contact the DuBois City Police.

A man from Big Run got a DUI for falling asleep in a parking lot.
According to the State Police in Punxsutawney, 31-year old Christopher Troutman was sleeping in the parking lot on Eureka Street in Punxsutawney Borough with his vehicle running. Police say Troutman was determined to be driving under the influence and charges are pending.

A man from Reynoldsville was the victim of an internet scam.
State Police in DuBois say 58-year old Christopher Calhoun, who lives on Wayne Road, Winslow Twp, in Jefferson County was persuaded to buy I-Tunes gift cards and give the information to someone online.
According to investigators, Calhoun was scammed out of $900.
