
The Punxsutawney Borough Police responded to a two-car accident that happened yesterday around 3:30 PM on Route 119 by the runaway truck ramp on Indiana Hill.
According to police, both vehicles were heading North going down the hill when a car driven by Alexis Getch hit the car in front her, driven by Janice Farrah. Authorities say Getch went between Farrah’s vehicle and the guide rail, then passed her, crossing both lanes of traffic, before hitting the guide rail on the other side of the road.
No injuries were reported, and Elk Run Fire Department assisted at the scene.

State Police say weather wasn’t the only factor in an accident that happened on Monday afternoon.
According to the Punxsutawney State Police the driver of a car on Willow Road near the Valley Road intersection in Bell Township, Jefferson County was going too fast for the weather conditions when the driver lost traction and hit a utility pole.
No injuries were reported and no other information was released.

A wet road was only part of the cause of an accident that happened earlier this month. State Police in DuBois say the incident occurred around 1:30 AM on January 9 along Hormtown Road in Washington Township of Jefferson County when a driver lost control of his vehicle on a wet roadway and hit a tree, causing it to overturn onto its side before coming to a rest on the shoulder of the roadway.
According to authorities, the driver left the scene prior to contacting police to report the crash. Investigators found the driver 48 year old Michael Peles from Brockway and charged him with driving under the influence of alcohol.
