
A deer was the cause of an accident on Route 28.
The State Police in Punxsutawney say the accident happened this past Friday morning around 8 o’clock when a deer entered the roadway on Route 28 near Grapevine Lane in Warsaw Township, Jefferson County. The driver of a vehicle slammed his brakes to avoid hitting it. According to authorities, the man lost control of his vehicle and spun completely around twice, struck a post with three mailboxes on it and came to a stop in a snow bank.
The diver left his information to the property owners and he was not injured. No other information was made available.

A man from Knox was involved in a single-car accident that happened last month.
Authorities say the incident happened on January 23 around 11:30 in the morning when 20 year old Ronald Texter from Knox was on Huckleberry Road in Elk Township in Clarion County. He was going around a curve and lost control of his vehicle. According to the State Police in Clarion, Texter traveled off the roadway and hit a utility pole.
Texter was wearing his seat belt and was not injured. However, his passenger, 20 year old Mataya Davis from Hawthorn, was not wearing her seat belt and was taken to Clarion Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Texter was cited for not driving at a safe speed.

The State Police are still looking for the suspect who fled the scene of a car accident.
According to the Clarion State Police, the accident occurred on January 22 around 7:30 in the morning when 29 year old Ciara Irons from New Bethlehem was driving south on Route 66 in Porter Township in Clarion County when a car traveling north crossed the double yellow lines and hit Irons’ vehicle. the car came to a rest in a parking lot, while the driver of the car who hit her continued on without stopping.

Scant details are available about a convenience store in Shippenville that was was robbed last month.
Authorities say a man stole two items and gas from the store on the 28th Division Highway in Paint Township of Clarion County on January 24 around 9 am. According to the State Police in Clarion, the items totaled about $130 and the investigation continues.

Harassment charges were filed against a man from Punxsutawney on Monday.
According to the Punxsutawney State Police, the incident occurred around 4:30 on Monday afternoon on Route 36 in Bell Township in Jefferson County, when they responded to a report of harassment. Authorities say they arrested 53 year old Michael McClure for harassing 51 year old Ronald Rossey, both from Punxsutawney, and charges were filed through the District Court.
No other details were released.

A woman from Walston was involved in rollover cash that happened on Route 119 this past Friday afternoon.
According to Indiana State Police, 58 year old Mimi Miller was traveling on Route 119 south of Chambersville Road when she was going around a curve, lost control of her vehicle, traveled off the berm, hit an embankment and rolled the car onto its side.
Troopers say she was wearing her seat belt and may have suffered an injury. She was cited for not driving at a safe speed.

Police are looking for your help in finding a person responsible fro the destruction of mailboxes.
The State Police in DuBois say incident occurred on around 8 pm, January 31 along West Liberty Road in Winslow Township in Jefferson County, when two mailboxes belonging to a 78 year old woman and a 78 year old man, both from Reynoldsville, were struck. According to authorities, several other mailboxes were struck on the Sandy Township part of the roadway and they believe a Chevy pick up with a V snow plow may have been involved in the incident.

A man who was passed out in his vehicle was charged with DUI.
State Police in Clarion say a 39 year old man from Knox was found passed out in his vehicle on Buckhorn Road south of Route 28 in Elk Township, Clarion County, just after midnight on Christmas Eve.
The charges are pending blood results and no additional information was released.
