
A 72 year old man from Strattanville is accused of using his vehicle to hit a police officer who was in the cross walk at the time.
According to ExploreClarion.com, the Clarion Borough Police Department claimed Edward Lemon Goodman accelerated his vehicle while the police cfficer was attempting to use the cross walk at the intersection of South 5th Avenue and Wood Street on Monday morning. The published report says Goodman’s vehicle struck the hand of the police officer and drove off only to be caught and arrested a short time later.
The Borough Police filed charges, including aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person against Goodman on Monday at the District Court. A preliminary hearing is slated for February 12 and Goodman remains free on $5,000.00 unsecured bail.

There were a couple incidents of disorderly conduct that happen at Penns Manor High School on Tuesday.
The first took place around 9:30 in the morning when a 16 year old male allegedly posted a treating message on Snap Chat while he was at school, and according to the State Police in Indiana the threat was unfounded.
The second incident happened around lunch time when a physical altercation between two males, one 15 and the other 16 years old had to be broken up by the staff, according to authorities,
In both cases the Pennsylvania State Police issued a citation to all the students involved for disorderly conduct as well as disciplinary actions from the school.

A woman is accused of shoplifting after video surveillance allegedly shows her tag switching at a discount store.
54 year old Roselean Phelps from Rimersburg was at the Clarion Good will on Tuesday around 2:30 in the afternoon when she was accused of taking a lower price tag from one item and placing it over a higher price tag. According to investigators, the staff provided video surveillance and they claim it shows her switching tags.
Phelps has been charged with retail theft at the District Court.

Charges have now been filed for a DUI that happened on January 18.
According to the State Police in Punxsutawney, the incident occurred on Town Road in Burnside Township, Clearfield County when 56 year old Ronald Bennett from Westover was stopped for a traffic violation. Authorities say, after further an investigation, Bennett was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and charges have been filed in the District Court.
