Yesterday morning several chickens died in a coop fire.
The Punxsutawney Spirit reports the fire happened on Frostburg Road in Perry Township around 7:45 am and the Perry Township Volunteer Fire Company used hose lines from Lindsey’s Engine 40 to extinguish the blaze.
According to the Punxsutawney Spirit, the fire chief suggested the cause of the fire was a heat lamp. The coop was destroyed, all the chickens died and the owners of the property were possibly out of state.
