Various studies tend to show deer are more active around dawn and dusk and between midnight and two.
That’s when drivers are more prone to colliding with them, and that’s what happened on Sunday around dusk. Pennsylvania State Police in Clarion say 33 year old Katelyn Kiehl was traveling northbound on Greenville Pike, south of Survey Road in Clarion Township, when a deer entered the roadway, causing a head-on accident which smashed the engine block and crunched the entire front of her Chevy Traverse.
The vehicle had to be towed from the scene. Kiehl and her three passengers, all girls ages 7, 5 and 3 were strapped in and not injured.
