
Governor Tom Wolf and Pennsylvania Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine announced new mitigation measures in a news conference Monday, including what were described as “targeted” steps and limiting indoor events to 500 people and outdoor gatherings to 2,500.
Wolf advised residents to stay home whenever possible. Levine issued several advisories, including the suspension of alcohol sales at all bars and restaurants between 5 p.m. Nov. 25 and 8 a.m. Nov. 26.
Levine talked about the advisory asking people not to leave their homes unless it’s absolutely necessary to do so.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health released the latest Coronavirus data. The combined totals over the weekend show 1,837 additional positive cases of COVID-19, more than 3,300 people are hospitalized and of that number, 775 patients are in the intensive care unit.
Sixty nine people have recently died, bringing the overall total to 9,870 deaths attributed to the virus.
Sixty three of the 67 counties in the commonwealth are in the substantial level of community transmission, which is the highest level on the table including: Jefferson, Clearfield, Indiana and Clarion.
