Punxsutawney Area Hospital officials are getting ready for a significant increase in COVID-19 cases.
Hospital spokesperson Katie Donald says the hospital is not at full capacity yet and is still able to care for the community. According to the Punxsutawney Spirit, Punxsutawney Hospital, located at 81 Hillcrest Drive, still has 49 beds.
The hospital has restricted the facilities to patients and essential visitors only in order to maintain the safest environment for workers, patients, and visitors.
