
A Punxsutawney woman is facing felony identity theft among other related charges for allegedly spending more than $5,000 on a victim’s debit card, without his permission, while he was in jail.
According to ExploreJeffersonPA.com, the charges were filed by Punxsutawney Borough Police. They stem from an incident that began Nov. 5 when the victim reported money missing from his bank account.
The victim entrusted the woman to pick up his debit card and deliver it to his girlfriend when he was in jail on a probation violation.
When the victim’s girlfriend contacted the woman about the card she found more than 30 transactions totaling more than $5,000.
Charges have been transferred to the Jefferson County Court of Common Pleas.
