A Reynoldsville couple accused of medical neglect of three children were recently sentenced to probation.
According to ExploreJeffersonPA.com, 29-year-old John Bowley and 29-year-old Shelisha Steward were sentenced to five years probation on Jan. 6 for Endangering the Welfare of Children.
The charges stem from an investigation that began in 2019 when an the couple’s infant was diagnosed with failure to thrive. The advising doctor filed a report after she did not receive notice that the child was admitted to the hospital.
Authorities say the couple either rescheduled or did not attend multiple medical appointments for the child, and three other children were taken from the residence due to alleged medical neglect.
