A report of a missing wallet led to theft and drug charges for a 55-year-old Punxsutawney man.
According to ExploreJeffesronPA.com, the victim reported her wallet stolen on Jan. 12.
She told police she accidentally left her wallet in a shopping cart at a grocery store in Punxsutawney on Jan. 11. The store found video footage of a man finding the wallet and putting it in his cart. Police went to the man’s residence and noted a smell of marijuana. The man reportedly admitted he found the wallet and threw it in a dumpster at a restaurant in Brookville when he found there was no money in it. He also reportedly admitted that he did not have a medical marijuana car and turned over a pipe and a bag of marijuana to police. Police were not able to recover the wallet.
A preliminary hearing is set for March 4.

Police are investigating a pile of burnt items found in a field on Shields Road in Beaver Township of Jefferson County Jan. 12.
Troopers say they were contacted by Summerville Volunteer Fire Dept. to investigate. They found that someone burned a microwave and other garbage in the field and left the scene.
Police listed the victim of the incident as a 28-year-old Summerville man.

State Police are investigating an altercation that occurred on Brosius Road in Beaver Township of Jefferson County on Jan. 17.
Officers say they discovered several family members had engaged in a physical altercation. A 42-year-old Summerville woman and a 51-year-old Summerville man were arrested. The man and a 16-year-old from Summerville were also described as victims in the report.
The investigation is ongoing.

A 36-year-old Curwensville man was jailed after a drug-related weapons incident at an area pharmacy Tuesday night.
According to GANT News, police received a call for a possible armed robbery at a pharmacy in Clearfield. At the scene officers found that the suspect was allegedly in possession of a loaded handgun and was reportedly under the influence of drugs. The suspect is a felon and is not permitted to possess a firearm.
Police say, the man was also in possession of brass knuckles, drugs, and paraphernalia.
He was lodged in Clearfield County Jail to await charges.
