
The Punxsutawney Area School District announced a teacher and a student at the high school tested positive for coronavirus Thursday.
According to a release from the district, the student was in the the building on Jan 12 and 14 other students were identified as close contacts and are under quarantine. The teacher was in the building on Jan. 13-15 and no students or staff were exposed due to close contact.
Jefferson County reported one additional death and 28 new cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday Jan. 21. According to the PA Department of Health, the county’s total case count has reached 2,359 and the death toll is at 66.
Clearfield County reported two new deaths and 58 new cases and Indiana reported 26 new cases with no additional deaths.
Statewide there are 5,664 additional positive cases of COVID-19 bringing the state’s total to 788,834.
