
The Punxsutawney Area School District reported another elementary school teacher had tested positive for COVID-19 Saturday.
According to the Punxsy Spirit, the teacher was present in the elementary school on Jan 22. No students, teachers, or staff were known to have been exposed due to close contact.
Saturday ended a week that saw a sudden spike in COVID-19 cases in the Punxsy school district.
Three staff members and six students tested positive for the virus and five staff members and 95 students were placed under quarantine at various times after being identified as close contacts of individuals who tested positive.
