The Punxsutawney Area School District reported two new positive coronavirus student cases Thursday.
According to the release, one Punxsutawney High school student and one elementary school student tested positive and are now under quarantine along with 26 other identified as close contacts.
Jefferson County reported 14 new coronavirus cases and one additional death Thursday.
According to the PA Department of Health, the county’s total case count has reached 2,479 and the death toll is at 73.
Clearfield County reported 47 new cases and one additional death for a case count of 5,485 and a death toll of 95.
Indiana County saw 17 new COVID-19 cases and two additional deaths. The county’s total case count has reached 4,727 and the death toll is at 148.
There were 6,036 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in the state, bringing the statewide total to 824,405.
State health officials noted that case counts today include backlogged antigen testing data from urgent care centers.
