June Lee Frantz, a 60-year-old Punxsutawney woman, is behind bars, facing attempted murder, assault, and other related charges in relation to a stabbing that occurred in Big Run Borough late last week.
According to ExploreJeffersonPA.com, the charges stem from an incident that occurred on Jan. 28 when troopers were dispatched to a residence along East Main Street in Big Run Borough for a reported assault.
Police say the victim had several serious injuries, including a puncture wound on her upper chest. Police say Frantz gained access to the victim’s house by asking to use her phone and then she allegedly physically assaulted the victim and reportedly stabbed her in the chest with a pair of scissors. Frantz then allegedly held a kitchen knife to the victim’s throat and told her to break up with her boyfriend. The victim reportedly agreed and the woman left the residence.
Frantz was arrested Jan. 29 and lodged in Jefferson County Jail.
A preliminary hearing has not been set yet.
