
State Police are investigating a DUI incident that occurred in Perry Township of Jefferson County on Sunday.
Troopers say they were patrolling State Route 36 when they noticed a vehicle at the intersection of Sprankle Mills Road and State Route 36 with someone passed out in the driver’s seat. As police approached the vehicle they noticed it was still in drive.
Police identified the person inside as a 29-year-old Punxsutawney man and noted that he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
Troopers conducted a battery of field sobriety tests and subsequently took the man into custody for suspicion of DUI.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.

State Police are investigating a burglary and theft that occurred in North Mahoning Township of Indiana County sometime between Feb. 9nd and Feb 13th.
Troopers say the alleged burglary and theft occurred at a location along Route 210 and list the victim as a 38-year-old Smicksburg woman.

Police say a 53-year-old Ringgold woman was seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash in Pine Creek Township of Jefferson County on Feb. 11th.
Troopers say the crash occurred on State Route 28 at its intersection of Service Center Road, when Amy Jordan turned left onto Service Center Road and traveled into the path of a vehicle driven by 58-year-old Thomas Elkin of Punxsutawney.
Troopers say when the vehicles collided Elkin’s vehicle pushed Jordan’s vehicle into the grass off the roadway where both vehicle came to a final stop.
Police say Jordan sustained serious injuries and was transported by Jefferson County EMS to a landing zone where she was flown by MedEvac to a hospital in Altoona.
Elkin and his passenger were unhurt. All occupants were wearing seat belts, airbags deployed in both vehicles, and they were both towed from the scene.

Clymer Borough Police are investigating an incident of burglarized cars.
Police say someone broke into one vehicle and tried to get into tow others parked in driveways along Dixon Road at about 2 am Monday.
Investigators said the intrusions were captured on a surveillance video recording, and reported that it was unclear whether anything was stolen.
