All three Punxsutawney fire companies responded to a garage fire in Young Township of Jefferson County at a location along Cemetery Road in Sportsburg Wednesday.
Fire Officials on the Punxsutawney Fire Department Facebook page say the owner of the garage, Wayne LaBelle, was working at his building nearby and noticed smoke and flames coming from the roof of his garage.
The early discovery enabled area firefighters to quickly knock down the blaze and keep the damage to a minimum.
No injuries were reported. Fire Officials note that the garage was not attached to the home and the damage was held to the roof and wall in the back of the garage.
