
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a physical altercation between two 17-year-old male students that occurred today at approximately 11:05 a.m. at Homer-Center Junior/Senior High School.
Troopers from Troop A, Indiana Patrol Unit were called to the high school to investigate an assault involving two students. Troopers learned that the two students, both of Homer-Center School District, were involved the altercation that occurred on the patio area outside the main entrance to the school. The incident happened after they had exited a school bus returning from Indiana County Technology Center and were preparing to enter the school.
According to the police report, one of the students sustained suspected serious injuries after he was repeatedly punched and kicked by the other male juvenile. The victim was treated at the scene by Homer-Center School District and Citizens’ Ambulance Service personnel, then flown to Allegheny General Hospital for further treatment. At last report, he was in stable condition.
Upon conducting interviews, reviewing surveillance video, and consultation with Indiana County District Attorney Robert F. Manzi, Jr., the other male student was placed under arrest and was charged via written allegation with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, and Harassment. He was then released into the custody of the Indiana County Juvenile Probation Department and was placed at Summit Academy, Herman, PA.
As the two students involved in the altercation are juveniles, their names were not released.
