
State Police in Punxsutawney are investigating an incident where a known victim in Rose Township of Jefferson County was extorted for money by a person threatening to send the victim’s intimate images to the victim’s relatives over social media.
Troopers say the incident was reported Thursday and it was determined that the victim had sent explicit images to an unknown person who then demanded $300 or they would send the images to the victim’s relatives.
Police say the victim sent the money and then the person demanded an additional $1,000 and the victim then reported the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.

State Police in Punxsutawney say a hit-and-run crash occurred in Henderson Township of Jefferson County on Wednesday.
Troopers say the crash occurred at a location along Route 119 when someone drove off the road, hit two mailboxes, and continued driving.
Police say the driver of the vehicle remains unknown.

Clymer Borough Police have announced the arrests of a man and woman on drug charges.
According to WCCSRadio.com, police stopped a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Tara Kaitlee Deckard of Cambria County along Franklin Street in Clymer Borough Thursday night. Police say Deckard was in possession of heroin, meth, assorted pills, marijuana, and other paraphernalia. 32-year-old Troy Milo Lucus of Glenn Campbell, an occupant of the vehicle, was also reportedly in possession of drug paraphernalia.

All three Punxsutawney fire companies were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident in Young Township of Jefferson County on Friday.
According to the Punxsy Spirit, the crash occurred at the intersection of Alliance Drive and Route 119 when a FedEx box truck and a car collided.
No injuries were reported in the crash. The truck reportedly sustained light damage, while the car was towed from the scene.
State Police were assisted at the scene by Punxsy Borough Police and Jefferson County EMS.

State Police in Clarion have released the details of a multi-vehicle crash on U.S. 322 that injured a Summerville woman late last month.
Police say the accident occurred near the intersection of Kingsville and CL School Road in Clarion Township on Feb 26th. Troopers say a vehicle driven by 60-year-old Cheryl Geist of Summerville was stopped on 322 when it was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Jenalee Schenk of Franklin. The rear of Geist’s vehicle then reportedly went into the opposing lane and collided with another vehicle driven by 33-year-old Shane Lockwood.
Schenk and Geist both suffered suspected minor injuries. Schenk was transported to Clarion Hospital while Geist was taken to Penn Highlands Brookville.

Commodore Fire Department, State Police, and Citizens Ambulance responded to a vehicle accident around 7:40 this morning in Green Township.
According to Indiana County Fire Wire the crash occurred along Route 286 Highway E.
No word yet on any possible injuries.
