Clearfield Borough fire chief is being accused of impersonating a police officer.
According to GANT News, 42-year-old Justin Worley is charged by DuBois City police with misdemeanor impersonating a public servant and summary improper use of emergency lights. The charges stem from an incident that began when officers received a report of a vehicle driving erratically near West DuBois Ave. and Susquehanna Street on March 1. The caller, later identified as Worley, said the vehicle was headed into DuBois City from Brockway.
Worley allegedly followed the vehicle, whose driver called 911 after Worley reportedly activated his emergency lights and ran a red light to catch up with the him. Worley reportedly told police he “bumped the lights” with his elbow. A passenger in the vehicle also said she saw Worley activate his lights, then turn them back off as he got through the intersection. The driver said Worley then pulled him over on Susquehanna Street and they stayed in the car for about 15 minutes but Worley did not approached them. The driver then exited the vehicle to ask what was wrong and alleged that Worley then yelled for him to get back in his vehicle and “not move.”
A preliminary hearing is set for April 16.
