A 40-year-old Rossiter man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault, stalking, and related charges following an incident in Young Township of Jefferson County on Monday.
According to the Punxsy Spirit, the charges stem from an incident that began when police received a report of a fight in the parking lot of a national retailer shortly after 3 am. The victims said they were in their vehicle in the parking lot when Matthew Adam Wright walked up and reportedly began punching the window. The victims left the parking lot but allege that Wright pursued them in his vehicle onto Route 119, drove alongside them and intentionally struck the side of their vehicle in an attempt to push them off the road. Wright then reportedly rammed them from behind as they entered Punxsutawney borough. Police say Wright reportedly admitted to punching the window and following the vehicles, but he said contact between the vehicles was the result of the victim abruptly applying the brakes.
Police photographed the vehicles, which they said showed damages consistent with interviews of both Wright and the victims.
Wright was released after posting bail. A preliminary hearing is set for May 11.

State Police in Punxsutawney say a log truck overturned in Burnside Township of Clearfield County on Monday.
Troopers say the log truck, driven by 23-year-old Joseph Carney of Hamilton, overcompensated a right-hand curve in the road causing it to overturn onto the driver’s side while traveling along State Route 219 near the intersection of Solley Road. Police say the truck lost numerous logs and State Route 219 was closed until the truck and the logs were removed.
Troopers say Carney sustained possible injuries while his passenger, 42-year-old Charles Brown of Reynoldsville, was uninjured.
Police say the driver was cited.
