
Sigel fire department responded to a report of a garage fire in Eldred Township of Jefferson County on Sunday.
According to Jefferson County fire wire the fire occurred around 4:50 pm at a location along McManigle Road. Sigel Volunteer Fire Department shared on its Facebook page that Brookville, Corsica, Pinecreek, and Farmington Township fire crews were called for mutual aid and that the crews worked on scene to put out the garage fire and ensure the residence was not involved.
Firefighters say the fire was under control within 40 minutes. Jefferson County EMS also assisted on scene.

Four Indiana County fire companies responded to a reported fire at a Green Township residence on Sunday.
According to WCCSRadio.com, Commodore, Clymer, Cherry Tree and Hope fire departments were dispatched to a home on Starford Road for a report of a fire. Citizens Ambulance and the RIG team were also dispatched around 8:50 PM. About 30 minutes later, Indiana Fire Association members were called to the Commodore Fire Station to standby for Commodore and Clymer Firefighters.
There is no word yet if there were any injuries, but within 10 minutes of the initial report of the fire, Indiana County 911 called on Commodore Fire Department to set up a landing zone on Musser Street.
