All three Punxsutawney fire departments responded to a reported brush fire along Crawfordtown Road in Young Township of Jefferson County around 3:30 pm on Tuesday.
The Punxsy Spirit reports, Lindsey, McCalmont and Big Run fire crews received the call as well but were canceled.
Explosions from propane tanks were heard and the blaze endangered the woods.
Firefighters knocked it down within a few minutes with no reported injuries and kept the flames away from any structures.

The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and the Glenn Campbell Fire Department are investigating a structure fire that occurred in Glenn Campbell borough of Indiana County on Monday.
State Police say fire crews were dispatched to the reported structure fire at a location along Glenwood Avenue around 8:20 pm.
According to the report, the cause of the fire is currently classified as arson. Police listed the victim as unknown.
Troopers note there were no reported injuries and the estimated damage is at $30,000.
No further details have been released yet.
