
Felony charges have been filed against a Michigan man who was caught in Monroe Township on April 4 driving a vehicle with a 15-year-old female passenger who was reported missing in New Jersey.
According to ExploreJeffersonPA.com, The juvenile was reportedly picked up by 24-year-old Alexander May outside of her New Jersey residence around 12:30 am on April 4. State Police in Clarion received a call from police in New Jersey after a cell phone believed to be the juvenile’s was pinged traveling on I-80.
The vehicle was located and a traffic stop was conducted at the exit 62 westbound ramp in Monroe Township.
During the stop, the driver was identified as May and the juvenile was found in the passenger seat.
Police interviewed May who reportedly said he knew the juvenile and had planned to pick her up and return to Michigan but believed that she was 17 rather than 15.
He was lodged in Clarion County Jail after failing to post bail.
A preliminary hearing is set for April 13.
