
The Punxsutawney Area School District reported its first positive COVID-19 case in three weeks on Tuesday.
Administrators said a student at the high school who was in the building on April 30 recently tested positive for COVID-19 and is under quarantine with six other students who were exposed due to close contact. According to the release, no teachers or staff were exposed due to close contact.
Jefferson County reported seven new COVID-19 cases and now new deaths on Wednesday. According to the PA DOH, the county’s total case count has reached 3,226 and the death toll remains at 96.
Clearfield and Indiana counties both reported 26 new cases. Clearfield reported one new death.
