Gas prices in Western Pennsylvania are six cents higher this week at $3.09 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.
Average price of gas during this week last year was $2.10 per gallon.
In Jefferson County, drivers are paying an average of $3.10 per gallon.
Average gas prices in the surrounding area include Indiana County at $3.08, Clearfield at $3.09, and Clarion at $3.12
Colonial Pipeline, which delivers approximately 45% of all fuel to the East Coast, announced over the weekend, it was the victim of a cybersecurity attack and, as a precaution, shut down the pipeline.
At this time, some lateral lines have reopened, but there is no word of when the mainline, including the gasoline line, will be operational.
