
The Brookville Area School Board voted to place the budget for the 2021-22 school year, which includes a tax increase on display at Monday’s board meeting.
The Punxsy Spirit reports that the tentative 2021-22 taxes include, Real estate millage at 31.96 mills (representing a 2.9 percent tax increase) and a uniform occupation tax of 2,000 mills will be levied upon the occupational assessment of every district resident which is the same as last year’s tax.
The proposed budget was approved with a 6 to 3 vote.
The board set a budget workshop meeting to discuss where cuts can be made before the final budget is passed in June.
