The Punxsutawney Area school board received the retirement notice of assistant superintendent Richard Britten at Thursday’s meeting.
Superintendent, Dr. Thomas Lesniewski said Britten’s retirement is effective August 6 and noted the good work Britten has done for the district over the years.
In other business:
Lisa Goth of Leach Insurance gave the board an update noting that she received updated proposals from two other companies offering competitive quotes – giving board members more options to consider.
Business Manager Susan Robertson said the board will have two choices when it comes to the 2021-22 budget – one with a tax increase and one without in the amount of $49,976,250.
Board members will vote on an insurance package as well as the 2021-22 budget at Tuesday’s meeting.
