
A 31-year-old Punxsutawney man was arrested following a suspected DUI HIT-AND-RUN crash that happened on Saturday just before 10 pm.
State Police say the hit-and-run crash occurred in Gaskill Township of Jefferson County along Filtering Plant and Pleasant Roads when a vehicle ran a stop sign into a camp’s front yard, ran over a tree, and got stuck. Police say the driver fled the scene but was later found and arrested for suspicion of DUI.
Authorities say charges are pending.

State Police in DuBois have released the details of a crash that temporarily shut down a portion of Route 322 in Winslow Township of Jefferson County on Thursday.
Police say the one-vehicle crash happened along 322 nears Reynoldsville Sykesville Road at around 3:20 am. Troopers say the driver of the vehicle, 26-year-old Devin Cathcart of Reynoldsville told them a deer had run out onto the road. He attempted to avoid hitting it, ran off the road, struck and embank with the passenger side of the vehicle, and then spun before coming to a final rest on the berm. Police say there was no evidence of a deer being on the roadway.
A passenger in the vehicle, 29-year-old Matthew Nelson of Reynoldsville was taken to Penn Highlands DuBois for treatment of suspected minor injuries.
Police say the vehicle was towed from the scene and the eastbound lane of 322 was temporarily shut down following the accident.

Brookville Borough Police recently investigated a reported theft from a home in Brookville that happened Wednesday.
Police say during an interview following an investigation the suspect indicated that he had committed the theft and gave the officers stolen money.
Authorities say theft and related charges have been filed.
No further details were released.
