More than 47.7 million Americans will travel Independence Day weekend this year, as travel volumes are expected to make a near full recovery to pre-pandemic levels.
According to Triple A, this will be the second-highest Independence Day travel volume on record, just behind 2019’s Independence Day with only 2.5% fewer Americans expected to travel this year compared to 2019.
With that, Pennsylvania’s current average gas price this week is at $3.18 per gallon of regular gas.
Drivers in Jefferson County are paying and average of $3.24 per gallon.
In the surrounding area, Clearfield County’s average gas price is at $3.20 while Indiana is at $3.25.
