State Police in Punxsutawney have released the details of a traffic stop that lead to an arrest in Washington Township of Jefferson County earlier this month.
Troopers say a 34-year-old Weedville woman was arrested following a traffic stop along Stevenson Hill and Irish Mary Roads on June 19 for a registration violation. Police say the woman appeared to be under the influence of drugs, conducted a battery of field sobriety tests, and subsequently took her into custody for suspicion of DUI. Authorities say they obtained a search warrant for the vehicle on June 23 and reportedly seized meth, marijuana, syringes, and other related drug paraphernalia.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
