Hunters who applied for their antlerless deer licenses might have to wait a little longer before receiving this year’s tags.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission said the cause for this delay is the new licensing system, which has experienced slowdowns during peak periods – including last Monday when licenses went on sale. The Game Commission is working with NIC Inc. – the vendor that operates the new HuntFishPA licensing system – towards a solution that will speed up the sales process and enhance system performance.
Bryan Burhans, executive director of the PA Game Commission, said that antlerless licenses are still being issued despite the delays and has “no doubt” that licenses will be in hunters’ mailboxes before the first deer season begins in September.
Hunters can log onto HuntFishPA.com to check the award status of their license. To see if licenses were awarded, hunters will need to log into their account and check their purchase history, as awarded licenses will appear there.
