As the number of coronavirus cases in Pennsylvania increases, so too do the areas where wearing a mask indoors may be making a comeback.
The state Health Department reports 50 of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties are now reporting substantial spread of coronavirus. A county reaches the substantial level when the number of coronavirus cases reaches 50 to 100 for every 100,000 people.
Residents of counties with substantial spread are advised to wear masks inside public places, regardless of vaccination status. In Pennsylvania that call is largely being left up to local and county governments, as well as businesses and local school districts.
