Jefferson County has a new commissioner.
According to The Punxsutawney Spirit, Scott North of Punxsutawney was named by Judge Foradora to replace Jack Matson, a Republican and chair of the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners.
The published report says, North, who lives in the Young Township area, actively served in the U.S. Army and National Guard for a total of 29 years and his private sector experience includes management and a strong background in human resources.
