The Brookville Borough Council received an update from the Chief of Police regarding active shooter procedures at its Tuesday meeting.
According to The Punxsutawney Spirit, Chief Vince Markle of the Brookville BD says, they practice shooting tactics in close quarters drills, with nonlethal ammunition rounds, to put the officers under stress and get them out of their comfort zones, to see how they would react under those circumstances.
If there is an active shooter situation, the published report quotes Markle saying, “I just want our community to know that our policy is not to sit around and listen and watch. Our policy is we are either going to arrest somebody or we are going to kill somebody.”
