It was a great night at PNC Park for the Pirates, with Bill Mazeroski throwing out the first pitch, a Maz “Gold Glove” bobblehead, and a sellout crowd watching the Bucs take down the Yankees.

Reliever David Bednar got his 13th save, striking out Aaron Judge to end the game. He grew up going to PNC Park to watch the Pirates and loved the atmosphere last night.
Rookie outfielder Jack Suwinski hit his fourteenth home run of the season. he leads all MLB rookies in homers. he says he is just trying to stay within himself in his initial season in the big leagues.
Former Pirate Jameson Taillon returned to Pittsburgh for the first time since being traded to the Yankees. He says it was a strange experience.
Before the game, the Pirates reinstated Ben Gamel and Yoshi Tsutsugo after long stints on the injured list and both had two hits in the game. Infielders Hoy Park and Tucupita Marcano were optioned to Indianapolis. Catcher Jason Delay was activated from the taxi squad and suited up in place of Tyler Heineman, who is on paternity leave.
The Pirates’ Mitch Keller [2-5, 5.14 ERA] faces the Yanks’ Luis Severino [4-3, 3.35 ERA] tonight. Airtime for the series finale is 6:40 on FOX Sports 100.9.
