The owners of two child care centers in Punxsutawney gave a presentation to the Punxsutawney School Board on the need for collaboration with the district and pre-K educational programs.
The Punxsutawney Spirit reports, Erin Cameron, owner and director of Creative Garden, and Linda Smith, co-owner and director of Playhouse, cited data from PreKforPa.org that tends to suggest the intellectual and psychological benefits of pre-K educational programs are exponential to childhood development. The published added board member Janey London agreed saying building a relationship between the district and the pre-schools needs to be prioritized.
