State police in Indiana have charged a Penns Manor student in connection with a bomb threat reported at the junior/senior high school building on Monday.
Troopers say a 14-year-old boy, who was not named in their report, faces felony charges of threatening to use weapons of mass destruction and terroristic threats, as well as a misdemeanor charge of carrying a weapon. They were identified after reviewing security footage and troopers also found them carrying a pocketknife on school grounds.
The incident started after a note was found in the school bathroom saying there was a bomb in the building that would go off at 1:30 p.m. Students and teachers were dismissed out of an abundance of caution and a sweep from the Bureau of Emergency and Special Operations Explosives Detection K9 unit found no explosives in the building.
The student was arrested without incident and released to their legal guardian after a series of interviews and further investigation
