Westmoreland County Airport Authority officials say that no immigrants are being flown into Arnold Palmer Regional Airport near Latrobe in the middle of the night.
At a recent authority meeting, Executive Director Gabe Monzo said it was just a rumor and while he doesn’t know the source of the gossip, he has received several calls about the matter. He said that the rumor is that Spirit Airbuses, that hold about 175 passengers, have been coming in with migrants during the overnight hours. Authority board chairman Donald Rossi added that it would be logistically impossible as an Airbus needs an air traffic control tower to guide it in for a landing, and the tower has not operated at night, let alone at 1 or 2 AM.
Monzo said if anyone has proof of this happening to share it so that the matter can be investigated.
