A former Clearfield County CYS caseworker, Crystal Miller, of Dubois, has been charged with extortion after allegedly exploiting clients for money and other benefits.
According to WJAC News, Authorities say she used her position to request services and funds, including asking clients to co-sign loans. The investigation began in September after Miller was fired due to these allegations. Four clients reported that Miller pressured them for financial favors, including money for gas, school supplies, and even a vacation.
Clearfield County officials and the DA emphasized that Miller’s actions were a severe abuse of power, and they thanked law enforcement for their swift investigation.
