A new Deer Management Assistance Program (DMAP) unit has been set up in Armstrong County, to help combat Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD).
The unit covers 25,000 acres near Ford City, and 500 antlerless deer permits are available for hunters. Through this program, hunters can have their deer tested for CWD, providing valuable data to the state on disease spread and helping hunters decide if the meat is safe to eat.
