A bipartisan bill to allow nonprofits, like fire companies and veterans’ groups, to accept credit, debit, and mobile payments for raffle sales failed to reach a final vote before Pennsylvania lawmakers adjourned for the year.
According to SpotlightPA, those organizations are limited to cash and checks, advocates argue the outdated law hurts fundraising efforts. Although the bill passed the Senate and a House committee, House Democrats did not bring it to a vote, meaning it must restart the process in 2025.
