The United School Board Tuesday night approved the Act 1 Resolution that sets the upper limit for property tax increases for next school year.
The PA Department of Education set the upper limit for United at 5.7%. The resolution is not a guarantee that the district will raise taxes to that level, as the board will work on minimizing the tax hit to district residents. Director of Finance G. Thomas Kalinyak said that the board was presented with a budget earlier this month that does have a deficit, but there’s still time for that debt to be reduced.
