Punxsutawney Borough has proposed a $2.34 million budget for 2025 with no tax increases.
Today’s Punxsutawney Spirit reports, Borough Manager Dr. William Spencer explained the budgeting process, which uses trend analysis and prioritizes restricted funds like grants and millage accounts before tapping into the general fund. This approach ensures financial flexibility while covering fixed, variable, and unexpected costs. Adjustments were made to better align millage accounts with their intended purposes, reducing stress on the general fund.
The budget will be finalized at a council meeting on Dec. 23.
